Position Summary  | Assumes responsibility for performing duties related to the delivery of student financial assistance for both incoming and returning undergraduate students in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as University policies and procedures. Assumes responsibility for adherence to rules and regulations governing University, America East and the NCAA, including assisting in the education process extended to alumni and the community. Performs all duties in full support of the University’s mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University’s students.
Hiring Range  | Starting salary is budgeted between $45,868 and $49,375 depending upon experience

Key Responsibilities 
Counsels prospective and enrolled students and their families on the various financial aid programs and opportunities at the University, advising on the requirements and procedures in order to be considered for and maintain financial aid awards. Fields telephone inquiries, gathering necessary background data to provide quality customer service and necessary follow-up information. Ensures inquiries from parents and students are addressed utilizing e-mail, telephone and mail regarding student financial aid, providing general guidance as to processes and application status. Serves as a primary authoritative resource for various components of the financial aid program. Maintains awareness of changes to regulations, laws, and best practices in the field of financial aid and changes in designated programs and/or processes. Will regularly monitor and address changes needed to the complex R2T4 Process. Maintains compliance, consistency and customer-oriented focus in the completion of specialty components of financial aid. Recommends changes as needed to the Associate Director and Director. Will serve as primary liaison to Athletics Compliance and prospective student athletes. Reviews and processes financial aid applications as needed. Performs needs analysis, assesses and awards financial aid to students based on federal regulations and University policies and procedures. Assists the Associate Director of Student Financial Aid in the oversight of daily office activities, including but not limited to assisting with process changes, directing student employee projects, and suggesting business process improvements. Establishes, cultivates, and maintains effective working relationships with other University departments, as well as external agencies, acting as a liaison in efforts to assist students in procuring financial aid. Assists the Office of Admission at various on-campus recruitment functions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
