Description
Flatiron Books, a division of Macmillan, is seeking an Assistant Marketing Manager to join our team, reporting to the Director of Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity for an engaged and enthusiastic title marketer who wants to grow and work on both fiction and non-fiction across genres, including mystery/thriller, literary fiction, fantasy, romance, book club reading, self-help and more. The Assistant Manager will create and execute marketing campaigns for select titles each season including consumer and trade advertising, early reader campaigns, bookseller outreach, and preorder buzz initiatives, including working on campaigns on their own, as well as in support of other members of the marketing team.

The Assistant Manager will also be responsible for certain departmental support needs such as social media support, influencer outreach and organization, liaising with the sales team to share designed assets and campaign initiatives, and more. The ideal candidate must possess strong project and time management skills, attention to detail, and creativity.

What you'll do:
  • Develop and execute creative marketing and consumer advertising campaigns for a wide variety of titles across genres to create awareness and drive sales
  • Manage the creation of the advertising and marketing collateral for assigned titles, including writing copy, collaborating with designers, and delivering assets to vendors
  • Managing budget for assigned titles
  • Strategize influencer marketing plans, including ARC mailings, influencer boxes, virtual author events for influencers, social media content, and book club outreach
  • Manage early reading strategy on platforms like Goodreads and Netgalley for assigned titles with an eye toward growing reviews and driving sales
  • Manage the creation of sales assets, including sell sheets, promotional graphics for accounts, and account-specific requests
  • Communicate plans to sales team at bi-weekly sales meeting, sales conference, and as needed
