Advertising/Posting Title | Assoc Producer, Across the Fence
Posting Summary | Produce, write, schedule, promote, host and preform on-air interviews for Across the Fence (ATF) television program. Coordinate with WCAX staff and leadership on day-to-day television production and occasional editing duties. Act as the “face” of the Across the Fence television program and as such, this position is the person viewers throughout Vermont and Northern New York associate with the program itself and with the University of Vermont. Host 3-5 studio programs per week at the WCAX-TV studio. In essence, ATF is a “talk show,” and therefore the Associate Producer of Across the Fence must have strong personal skills and work well with a range of personalities and ages. Reporting acumen and listening skills are essential, as are the ability to develop strong connections with university personnel. Liaison with UVM Director of Social Media and other staff to deliver content of the program beyond the boundaries of broadcast TV. This position is supervised by the Senior Producer of Across the Fence.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree and two to four years of television production experience. Proficient in ENG (electronic news gathering) and ENP (electronic news production). Understanding of non-linear editing concepts and experience with NLE software. Strong ability to tell a broadcast video story with emphasis on writing and editing. Time management and prioritization skills to complete high-quality productions on a daily deadline.
Desirable Qualifications | Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro preferred.
Reporting skills highly desirable.
Anticipated Pay Range | $58,000 to $70,000
