Job Description
The Associate Application Analyst is essential in developing, maintaining, analyzing, planning, and modifying complex applications within a diverse technical environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. This role involves gathering functional requirements, interpreting customer business needs, and translating them into technical specifications while ensuring that information systems adhere to quality and efficiency standards. Additionally, the Associate Application Analyst serves as a technical expert, providing valuable input and support for successfully implementing, developing, and maintaining administrative or enterprise information systems.
In addition, the Associate Application Analyst will:
• Analyze, develop, document, integrate, maintain, and modify complex information systems to meet evolving business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, ad-hoc teams to define system requirements, technical specifications, and test plans that translate business needs into functional solutions. Ensure systems and software meet efficiency requirements and adhere to quality assurance standards.
• Analyze and evaluate the technical infrastructure for both existing and new enterprise information systems.
• Promote an enterprise-wide perspective of university systems, addressing critical aspects such as usability, availability, scalability, security, and software management standards.
• Serve as a technical resource on ad hoc teams, providing technical assistance expertise and completing assigned tasks and objectives.
• Collaborate with team members to provide technical assistance and expertise, ensure timely completion of projects, and adhere to project deadlines.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, or a related field
• Foundational experience or strong academic preparation in systems analysis, business process analysis, and requirements gathering.
• Exposure to or experience supporting, maintaining, or enhancing enterprise-level systems and applications.
• Understanding object-oriented programming concepts, with familiarity in languages such as Java or Groovy.
• Familiarity with web application frameworks such as Spring, Grails, or Struts.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of relational database management systems and SQL.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
• Commitment to producing and maintaining high-quality documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree in information technology, or a related field
• Working experience with relational database management systems and SQL
• Experience in creating and maintaining customer relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• Experience with business processes and applications in Higher Education, particularly with Ellucian Banner and related systems such as Banner Document Management, Banner Workflow, or Banner General products.
• Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL development for database integration and optimization.
• Experience with API development and integration, including RESTful and SOAP-based services.
• Familiarity with build and dependency management tools like Maven, Ant, Ivy, or Gradle
• Experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization and deployment in cloud or virtualized environments
• Experience with Low Code development platforms, such as Boomi, MuleSoft or other integration platforms
• Experience with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
• Experience in deploying, troubleshooting, and maintaining integrations leveraging APIs
• Strong understanding of data security and compliance standards, especially in handling sensitive information in Higher Education environments
• Some experience or coursework in building user interfaces with libraries such as React is desirable
