Experience assessing and managing risks in student-led and University programs.

Job Description | Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Involvement and Engagement, the Associate Director for Student Involvement provides strategic leadership and operations oversight for the Student Involvement elements of the department’s portfolio, including student organization development and administration, campus-wide programming, and community engagement efforts.
As a member of the departmental leadership team, the Associate Director plays a central role in advancing a comprehensive involvement strategy that fosters belonging, supports student development, and contributes to the institution’s retention and student success outcomes.
Utilizing the student success framework, the Associate Director leads the design, implementation and continuous improvement efforts of a co-curricular experience that connects students to the university community, strengthens student organizations and creates meaningful pathways for students’ involvement journey.
Job Duties |
Departmental Leadership and Administration Serve as a key member of the Student Involvement and Engagement leadership team, contributing to departmental strategy, goal setting, and operational decision-making. Provide leadership in the absence of the Executive Director and support the advancement of departmental priorities aligned with divisional and institutional goals. Supervise and develop professional staff, including Senior Coordinators and provide indirect leadership to student staff and leaders. Manage programmatic budgets and support the development of the overall departmental budget. Participate in the advising structure and support of Student Government, in the direction of the Executive Director.
Student Engagement and Campus Programming Lead the development and execution of campus-wide engagement initiatives and signature programs including large-scale events such as Homecoming and River Fest. Oversee the planning and implementation of programs that promote student involvement, school spirit and community connection. Coordinate divisional and institutional collaboration in key university experiences. Foster partnerships with campus and community stakeholders to expand engagement opportunities for all students.
Student Organization Development and Administration Oversee the administration, advisement and support of a comprehensive student organization portfolio, including registered student organizations and their advisors. Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and resources that support healthy, sustainable student organizations. Develop and maintain training and onboarding programs for student leaders and organization advisors. Provide oversight of the student engagement system, ensuring ease of utilization and overseeing the re-registration and recognition of student organizations. Oversee and support the President’s Cup program in conjunction with key university stakeholders.
Resource Development and Management Support the management of digital platforms, websites, and engagement tools to enhance communication and participation. Ensure the implementation of risk management and safety practices for events and student organization activities. Oversee the program funding process for student organizations, ensuring viewpoint neutrality and ease of use.
Other Duties As Assigned Serve on divisional and university committees, task forces, and initiatives as assigned by the Executive Director. Collaborate with colleagues across the Division of Student Success to advance shared priorities and institutional goals. Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Executive Director or divisional leadership.
