Job Description | The Associate Director, Hybrid Programs provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for a portfolio of entrepreneurship programs delivered through integrated online and in-person formats. This role is responsible for aligning program strategy and delivery with organizational priorities, ensuring consistency, quality, and measurable impact across programs serving veteran and military-connected entrepreneurs.
The Associate Director serves as a key integrator across programs and functions, leading cross-functional collaboration and supporting strategic initiatives, partnerships, and program growth. This role ensures that program design, delivery, and performance are aligned with organizational goals and funder expectations, while driving continuous improvement and innovation across the portfolio.
The Associate Director supervises a team of Program Managers and Coordinators and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure effective program execution and participant outcomes.
This position may be filled on a fully remote basis if the identified candidate is not currently located in Syracuse, NY (within 50 miles). Not all geographical areas within the United States are eligible. Education and Experience | Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. 7-10 years of experience in program management, entrepreneurship programming, or related field. Demonstrated success leading multi-site or national programs. Supervisory experience required.
Skills and Knowledge | Strong program management, curriculum development, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Experience with data tracking, reporting, and performance measurement. Strong communication and relationship management skills. Demonstrated leadership experience managing staff and cross-functional teams. Familiarity with CRM, LMS, and program management tools preferred. Experience in entrepreneurship, small business, or startup environments preferred.
Responsibilities |
Strategic Program Leadership & Delivery Alignment: Contributes to strategic planning, including program development, portfolio alignment, and identification of emerging opportunities. Advises on program direction, funding opportunities, and partnership development. Ensures alignment with funder expectations and organizational objectives. Directs the design and delivery of hybrid entrepreneurship programs, including curriculum development, program structure, and delivery models. Ensures consistency and quality across programs and events, supporting effective participant outcomes. Oversees program execution at a systems level, ensuring alignment across cohorts, formats, and delivery channels.
Cross-Functional Oversight, Resource Stewardship, Stakeholder Engagement: Leads cross-functional coordination to align program delivery with operational support functions, including Shared Services, MarComms, Data Solutions, and PMO. Oversees program budgets in coordination with Shared Services and Finance, ensuring alignment with funding requirements and organizational policies. Ensures compliance with grant requirements, reporting standards, and operational guidelines. Directs resource allocation and prioritization to optimize program delivery and impact. Serves as a liaison with internal leadership, funders, and external stakeholders. Cultivates relationships with partners, subject matter experts, and collaborators to support program delivery and growth.
Staff Leadership and Development, Performance Management, Evaluation, and Continuous Improvement:Provides direct supervision of Program Managers and Coordinators, including assigning work, setting priorities, and evaluating performance. Supports staff development through coaching, feedback, and professional growth opportunities. Ensures alignment of team efforts with program and organizational objectives. Oversees program performance, including metrics, reporting, and evaluation. Establishes and monitors performance indicators to assess program effectiveness and impact. Identifies opportunities for improvement and innovation and leads enhancements to program design, delivery, and outcomes.
