Purpose: We are looking for an exceptional Associate Director, Learning Architecture to join our Learning Excellence Center (LEC). This role will be responsible for being a strategic and trusted advisor to the J&J IM North America Learning Excellence Learning Teams. In this role, you will contribute to the creation of outstanding learning experiences leveraging your design expertise to support performance and drive business outcomes. The day-to-day responsibilities will require a combination of creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to creating evidence-based, effective and engaging learning experiences in a variety of modalities that amplify learning effectiveness and impact. Our approach is grounded in the 6 Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning to ensure that our learning experiences drive measurable results.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with Learning Business Partners (LBP) and/or Program / Learning Execution Managers (PM/LEM) to conduct a thorough needs analysis, clearly understand learning demand needs, clarify desired business objectives and subsequently create learning and performance objectives, determine desired behavior change in the target audience, how success will be measured, and more
  • Designing engaging and learner-centric learning experiences using adult learning theory and the right modality mix to meet the needs of a modern learner
  • Architecting the full learning experience by owning overall learning experience design and collaborating closely with other LEC team members as necessary to determine pull-through/continuous learning approach, measurement/learning effectiveness strategy, and deployment plan (in addition to design of the learning event itself)
  • Creating high-level design documents, storyboards, rapid prototyping, and making recommendations on approaches that enhance the quality of the learning experience. On a project-by-project basis, this role may also be responsible for detailed design and partnering with a Developer/Creator (internal or agency) to develop content
  • Overseeing and/or supporting teams (internal or agency) conducting detailed design and development activities to build out learning solutions
  • Facilitating high-level design working sessions as needed with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of the learning solution prototype against the business needs
  • Strategizing and designing learning program sustainment and adoption plans
  • Gathering feedback on learning experiences for continuous improvement; analyzing measurement data and producing summaries/overviews for stakeholders and leadership
  • Being versed in modern learning technology and capabilities that can translate into learning experiences
  • Remaining current with latest and future learning experience trends and sharing best practices

Learning Architects should be prepared and equipped to service a diverse set of stakeholders ranging from therapeutic area learning teams to leadership and marketing capability teams, aligned to our organizational pillars.

Qualifications / Requirements:
Education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; Master's degree in Learning is preferred

Experience and Skills:
Required:
  • 8+ years experience in Learning & Development, specifically Learning Strategy, Instructional Design and/or Learning Experience Design
  • Experience leading needs analysis efforts with multiple stakeholders to uncover root needs
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office Products (Teams, SharePoint, Planner, MS Word, PPT, Excel, etc.)
  • Basic experience in content authoring tools and/or prototyping tools
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Success in this role requires the individual to be a self-starter, skilled communicator, and dot-connector that is both creative and customer focused

Preferred:
  • Experience in pharmaceutical learning & development
  • Experience in commercial roles (e.g., sales, sales leadership, account management, management, marketing)
  • Pharmaceutical/regulated environment experience

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
