Job Summary
The Associate Director of Transfer Admissions is responsible for the overall successful operation, training and monitoring of transfer admissions recruitment, selection and yield processes. Key responsibilities include coordinating with departmental leadership to implement student enrollment strategies and manage resources in order to meet performance expectations. They will provide leadership in the execution of the business plan, the control of the expenses and other managerial functions, as needed. The Associate Director of Admissions ensures that the philosophy and values of Drexel University are clearly communicated to potential students while demonstrating deep academic program knowledge.

The Associate Director of Admissions provides leadership and mentorship to their teammates, assists in the execution of the strategic plan, the control of the expenses and other managerial functions, as needed and drives to help his/her team achieve the University’s quantitative and qualitative goals while exhibiting professionalism, compliance and ethics, accuracy and passion for higher education. This position requires moderate domestic and regional travel (up to 5 weeks of travel in the Fall and 2-3 weeks in the Spring), as well as working evening and weekend hours as assigned.

This is a hybrid position working on-campus 3-4 days a week.

Essential Functions
  • Develops, directs and leads the coordination of student enrollment activities.
  • Ensures that objectives, plans, budgets, policies, practices and actions are consistent with University policies.
  • Participates in the development and execution of both short- and long-term student recruitment strategy to ensure the objectives are met, and is responsible for implementing approved programs.
  • Ensures quality hires and manages compensation and performance management programs.
  • Recruits, hires and trains new staff joining the Transfer Admissions team.
  • Delegates responsibilities to teammates and direct reports.
  • Maintains a thorough and demonstrable level of knowledge School programs to match a prospective students' needs to the correct program fit.
  • Manages a small team of Counselors and Assistant Directors, including performance management, delegating responsibilities, managing conflict/problem-solving.
  • Adheres to laws and regulations governing student recruitment activities.
  • Assists in creating and maintaining the admissions operations manual, responsible for the completed product.
  • Develops and reviews weekly reports to ensure progress against goals and staff performance metrics.
  • Develops and oversees the undergraduate admissions communication plan, ensuring all messages are accurately built, scheduled, and delivered on time within the CRM system.
  • Demonstrates Drexel University values in the completion of all job assignments.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, including 3 years of admissions experience.
  • Experience using a CRM system.
  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain high energy and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to train, lead, manage and develop team members.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and take initiative.
  • Ability to achieve success independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while working with external Departments.
  • Ability to travel up to 8 weeks during Fall recruitment and up to 3-4 weeks during Spring recruitment.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Strong public speaking and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Valid U.S Driver’s License.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Slate or similar admissions CRM system.

This position is classified as Exempt, grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from $54,630 - $81,940 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
