How can you make an impact?
This associate editor will be responsible for the acquisition, development, and optimization of content sets for the AccessEngineering institutional subscription product, as well as for signing and maintaining engineering print titles. This position will engage with relevant technical communities to understand their educational needs and align those with content gaps on AccessEngineering that must be filled. This position will also be responsible for the administrative functions of the Engineering product team.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What can you expect from the position?
  • Acquire and manage development of 4-6 print titles (first editions and revisions) and 4-6 digital content sets (video, audio, spreadsheets, problem walkthroughs, case studies, etc.) for AccessEngineering annually, focusing upon key content gaps in the product.
  • Responsible for the basic administrative functions of the Engineering product team including title setup, coordinating the AccessEngineering publishing schedule, creating purchase orders and processing payments, etc.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the AccessEngineering product, to acquire and develop appropriate digital content for it.
  • Network within relevant technical communities by attending conferences and through campus visits to; 1) strengthen overall market and competitive knowledge; 2) build relationships with key subject matter experts; and 3) translate this knowledge into business plans for program growth.
  • Articulate the programs, projects, content, and strategy through excellent written and oral communications skills.

We’re looking for someone with:
  • Minimum one to three years of related administrative, content development and/or acquisitions support experience, preferably in engineering, science or other technical content markets.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to complete research and analysis and to decide what content to develop in each of the topic areas assigned.
  • Ability to immerse themselves in specialized engineering communities and translate understanding of those communities’ needs into content development.
  • Ability to work with authors to get the right content and positioning, guide the authors through the publishing process, get manuscripts ready in a form and style acceptable to our production department, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.

The pay range for this position is between $55,000 - $68,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. A full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
