Job Summary/Basic Function
The WSU Associate Instructional Designer is responsible for assisting faculty members in all aspects of education, including instructional design and working with technology. This grant-funded position will be primarily working with our Auto-Tech department, to meet the requirements of a grant from the Department of Energy.

This is a 24-month temporary position funded by a grant program.
Required Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field (or within two semesters of graduation)
  • Professional experience consulting with subject matter experts (for example faculty or business clients)
  • Experience with HTML editing tools, Microsoft Office applications (or equivalent), multimedia authoring tools, and learning (or course) management systems
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or related field
  • Excellent working knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Demonstrated ability to apply learning and instructional theory in practical settings
  • Working familiarity with online learning tools, the internet, electronic communications, and e-authoring tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to creatively solve problems
  • Experience leading course design projects in a collaborative environment
  • Familiarity and experience with the complexities of teaching and learning in a higher-education environment
