AppHatchery is Emory University's digital health application development program and a key resource within the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA). We partner with researchers, clinicians, and public health experts to design, build, and deploy innovative digital health solutions that translate research discoveries into real-world tools that improve patient outcomes.

 

As part of the Georgia CTSA—an NIH-funded collaboration between Emory University, Georgia Tech, Morehouse School of Medicine, and the University of Georgia—we share a commitment to accelerating the translation of laboratory discoveries into treatments for patients, engaging communities in clinical research, and training the next generation of clinical investigators.

 

We are seeking a temporary to permanent Associate Product Manager to join our team and help bring health-focused mobile and web applications from concept to launch. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and academia while contributing to translational research that directly impacts patient care and community health.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and clinicians to understand project goals and translate them into product requirements
  • Write clear user stories, product specifications, and acceptance criteria for the development team
  • Conduct user research including interviews, usability testing, and feedback synthesis
  • Partner with UX designers to create intuitive, accessible digital health experiences
  • Build technical prototypes using modern generative tools
  • Maintain product roadmaps and communicate priorities to stakeholders
  • Track product metrics and use data to inform decisions
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle
  • Support the broader Georgia CTSA mission by ensuring digital tools effectively bridge research and clinical practice

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, healthcare, computer science, HCI, or related discipline) and three years of product management, business analysis, business relationship management and software development experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, databases, and application layer technologies support to troubleshoot and identify issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence others, resolve conflicts, and lead a Product Delivery Team.
  • Demonstrates advanced level proficiency in MS-Office including MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint and MS-Project Server.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with mobile or web application development processes
  • Background in user research or UX design
  • Exposure to healthcare, clinical, or research environments
  • Proficiency with product tools (Figma, Notion, analytics platforms)
  • Exposure to use AI for mockups and prototype coding
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across academic and clinical settings
  • Interest in healthcare, digital health, or translational research
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
