About the Role
The portfolio consists of information systems and management journals. The journals are mainly proprietary and the portfolio includes two gold open access tiles. The Associate Publisher taking on this list would be collaborating with three other Publishers working across business, management and innovation titles to ensure alignment in development and outreach in these fields.

The Associate Publisher will ensure our journals reflect the research community, expanding networks, partnerships, and output, especially from underrepresented regions. Success in this role requires maintaining an excellent network with Elsevier editors, authors, and societies.

We are specifically looking for someone who is willing and able to develop deep relationships with, and an understanding of, US institutes that undertake research in information systems and management and adjacent areas. Due to the focus on geographical engagement, this Associate Publisher position can be based in the USA at either our Cambridge, New York or Philadelphia offices.

The Social Sciences journals’ team you will be joining is currently made up of 10 publishers – seven in the UK, two in China and one in the Netherlands.

Responsibilities
  • Staying up to date with market developments, to identify and map market needs and business opportunities.
  • Combining market knowledge and data analysis, develop a portfolio strategy that will deliver on targets
  • Managing content growth organically and by (title) acquisition
  • Managing innovation of content formats and content extensions and channels
  • Working closely with team members and other publishing colleagues to help deliver on collaborative projects and goals.

Requirements
  • Have a Degree/PhD; in a Social Sciences discipline is desirable, but not essential
  • Have relevant publishing experience or experience in a related role
  • Have excellent networking and communication skills, in English
  • Have the ability to adapt to change, handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Willing and able to travel within the USA and internationally
  • Willingness to attend the office in person at least once every two weeks
