Oakland University is hiring an Associate Vice President and Controller to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the University's accounting services, including managing the general ledger system and fund accounting practices. The role leads directors across multiple financial departments, directs financial policy development, and fosters collaboration within the Finance & Administration leadership team to advance university goals.

Lead and oversee accounting services functions including Central Accounting, Accounts Payable, Student Business Services, Payroll, and Purchasing.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures promoting operational excellence, customer service, and compliance.
Collaborate with Finance & Administration leadership to support a results-oriented culture and conflict resolution.
Proficiency required with personal computers, spreadsheet applications, and enterprise-wide automated financial systems.
Preferred skills include database management and Banner software experience.
Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting or related field, seven years of supervisory experience with at least two years in management, and five years in financial management preferably in higher education.
Desired professional certification such as CMA or CPA; university fund accounting experience is beneficial.
Salary range from $160,250 to $180,250 annually.
Position is full-time (40 hours/week) in the Finance & Administration department.
Responsible for supporting high quality customer service and robust compliance in all accounting functions.
