Athletics Compliance Coordinator Full Description

Overview: 
The mission of Princeton University Department of Athletics is to strive for excellence in academics and athletics, while embracing equity in opportunity, good sportsmanship, and ethical conduct.
 
The Compliance Coordinator oversees squad lists, official and unofficial visit approval and reconciliations, recruiting software, and sport participation records. The coordinator serves as the liaison with OIT for the roster management system and with the Financial Aid Office for the Student Athlete Assistance Fund. The coordinator assists the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance with any and all issues related to compliance.

Responsibilities: 
  • Oversight of eligibility rosters for 38 varsity sports and over 1,000 student-athletes that includes extensive communication between coaches, student-athletes, OIT, and the NCAA.
  • Work with the NCAA Eligibility Center as appropriate to certify incoming student-athletes.
  • Work in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance to monitor day-to-day athletics eligibility and roster management.
  • Assist with rules interpretation requests from coaches, staff, parents, alumni and boosters, and connect with the Ivy and NCAA Offices for interpretive support as needed.
  • Coordination of official visits that includes oversight of ARMS.
  • Train coaches in the use of ARMS.
  • Review, reconcile and approve all student-athlete host visit expenses.
  • Approve visits as entered into the system based on submission of required documentation.
  • Manage all athletic awards. Order for individual varsity sport banquets and the Princeton Varsity Club Senior Athlete Banquet.
  • Maintain records of letter winners each year that includes distribution of letters.
  • Maintain sport participation records.
  • Purchase supplies for compliance office suite through purchasing system.
  • Generate student-athlete reports and lists for various constituencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in intercollegiate athletics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various constituencies.
  • Successful candidate must understand the rules and regulations of the University, the Ivy League and the NCAA.
  • Must have strong work ethic including organizational skills and have the ability to perform functions with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise discretion at all times and able to keep confidential all data related to Princeton and its student-athletes.
  • Multi-tasker, self-starter, independent worker and thinker, and must serve as an outstanding representative of the University.
  • Proficiency in MS office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have database manipulation knowledge.
  • Ability to uphold the commitment to Department of Athletics mission and values of Education Through Athletics.
  • Adhere to Ivy League, ECAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
