About the Opportunity
***Role is located in our Reston, VA office and is hybrid***
***Must have Ellucian Banner Financial Aid Experience***
We are seeking to hire a results driven Banner Financial Aid Analyst to be a key member of the Banner Financial Aid team. Your primary role will be to develop and refine software requirements as well as test plans to validate and verify the deliverable.
Where you will make an impact
- Work in close partnership on an agile engineering team to create, analyze project/product requirements in support of meeting product roadmap commitments
- Work effectively with the product manager, agile engineering team, and other stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment
- Develop/refine comprehensive user stories that define the scope of the deliverable and ensure they are accurately defined and understood by the engineering team. This includes:
- Ability to write and refine effective requirements and detailed functional specifications
- Assist in articulating acceptance criteria and validating the developed solution for the sprint user story, in alignment with the expectations of the product manager’s vision and ensuring needs defined from the epic to the user story are met by the deliverable
- Review designs, test software changes, write documentation, support end users
- Validate solution and provides information to the documentation writers
- Maintain partner and customer relationships by serving as Tier 2 and higher support
- Escalate issues to the agile engineering team for investigation
- Participate in functional testing to ensure/validate requirement is met with delivered software
- Proactively seek ways to incorporate new/creative ideas and methodologies by keeping abreast of current technologies, tools, and agile best practices
- Assist in creating materials and organizing sprint demos
What you will bring
- Experience working in Higher Education specifically Financial Aid
- Experience working with Ellucian Banner
- Takes a logical, innovative, and analytical approach to problem solving and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong team player able to work effectively within a team and more broadly with people from a variety of backgrounds and areas across lines of business in an organization focused on engineering and delivery of world class solutions and experiences
Nice to have
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role
- Flexibility, responsiveness, creativity, innovative thinking, acceptance of change, and exceptional communication skills
- Experience in Agile software engineering practices such as Scrum, XP, Lean Agile, SAFe, and Kanban
- Experience using Agile project management software and supporting software (JIRA, AgileZen, Confluence, QA Complete, etc.)
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies, SQL, REST/JSON, business processes, and systems workflow documentation
- Experience and exposure in working with global teams
