Description

The Benefits Administrator supports the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, with a focus on accurate processing, data management, vendor coordination, and employee support. This role assists in maintaining efficient benefits operations, supporting system processes and file feeds, and ensuring a high level of service and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working with benefits systems and data.

What You'll Do:

Benefits Administration & Processing
• Process employee benefit enrollments and changes in HRIS. Ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and reconcile benefits data to confirm correct deductions, eligibility, and coverage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies related to benefits transactions and payroll deductions.

Employee Support & Customer Service
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits programs, eligibility, claims issues, and enrollment processes in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide clear, accurate, and empathetic communication to enhance the employee experience.
• Maintain and update company intranet Benefits pages

Compliance & Documentation
• Support compliance with applicable benefits regulations by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Assist in preparing required letters, filings, and audit support materials.
• Assist in pulling and preparing reports for benefit invoices
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.

Vendor Coordination
• Coordinate with benefits vendors and third-party administrators to resolve employee issues and ensure smooth service delivery.
• Track and follow up on outstanding vendor issues and support service level expectations.

Wellness/Events Support
• Assist in coordinating wellness initiatives and benefits-related events (e.g., open enrollment, flu clinics, educational sessions).
• Support efforts to increase employee awareness and participation in benefit programs.

Process Improvement & System Support
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience within benefits processes.
• Assist in testing system updates, enhancements, and open enrollment configurations.
• Support implementation activities for new tools, vendors, or process changes.

What You'll Bring
• At least 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR function
• Basic understanding of employee benefits programs (health, welfare, retirement)
• Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms
• Experience working with data, reports, and file feeds preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks accurately
• Effective problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Customer-service oriented with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality

This salary range for this role is $60,000 - $75,000.

This position is classified as remote but is tied to our New York, NY office located at 120 Broadway. Employment is subject to New York State tax withholding under applicable regulations.
