Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position. 
Excellent communication skills to include excellent written and verbal communication as well as strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments to support decision makers. Experience in creating visual aids such as flowcharts, diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, videos, and SOP documents. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of budget development, forecasting, and financial planning. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications 
2+ years of experience in training, facilitation, or instructional design. 3-5 years’ experience creating visual aids such as flowcharts, diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, videos, and SOP documents. Experience training public sector employees on budgeting tasks. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS). Familiarity with adult learning principles and blended learning approaches. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, systemic approach to organizing information, and ability to simplify complex processes. Experience with SAP. Experience in higher education budgeting processes and procedures. Experience performing complex financial analysis, forecasts, and projections. Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in either budgeting, finance, or human resource modules. Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.

Job Description 
The Budget Analyst will report to the Manager of Budgeting and Financial Analysis and provide support to other team members in the Budget Office as well as the Associate Vice President of Budget & Planning. This role involves performing daily operational budget tasks, delivering exceptional customer service to campus users by addressing budget-related inquiries, and serving as the primary trainer for budget-related matters. Additionally, the Budget Analyst will assist in developing training materials and process documentation.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced trainer to join our team, helping empower staff with the skills to effectively monitor and manage their budgets. As we continue to explore a potential new ERP system and budget model, we are looking for someone with effective communication skills, experience in creating training materials and process documents, and experience in course development for campus users. This position will also involve basic budget maintenance and forecasting, continued customer service, and supporting budget development initiatives.

Job Duties  | Training:
Develop and deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions on budget concepts. Create training materials, manuals, and job aids using various media formats for existing training programs, budget development, potential new ERP system and changes contemplated with the strategic budget model redesign. Customize training content based on audience needs (e.g., department managers, project leads, finance staff). Explain budget cycles, terminology, and tools in an accessible and engaging manner. Ensure consistency with university tone, voice, and style guidelines. Track and report training metrics and outcomes. Maintain knowledge of industry trends, training technologies, and best practices.

Process Documentation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts (SME) to gather information and ensure accurate representation of processes. Document existing business processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) using visual tools and written procedures. Maintain a central repository of documentation and ensure version control. Collaborate with teams to keep documentation up-to-date and aligned with operational changes.

Budget Activities:
Assist budget staff across campus on a variety of issues including budget variances, HR actions as it relates to budgetary impacts, policy, procedure, and allowable usage of their funding. Assist in preparation of the annual budget by updating the budget system, running queries, preparing spreadsheets and other documentation. Prepare moderate to complex analysis of revenue forecast, financial reports, schedules, and overall university budget.
