Department Summary
The Institute for Health Disparities (IHD) conducts research, training and community outreach in the areas of minority health, health disparities and workforce variety. Constituting the IHD are the Texas Center for Health Disparities, National Research Mentoring Network, Texas CEAL Consortium, Alternate Training Programs, AIM-AHEAD and the NIMHD Endowment.

Position Overview
The Budget Analyst is responsible for assisting in the implementation of resource planning and allocation practice, and assisting with all aspects of the budget process. Examines budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Job Duties
Analyze monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.Preparation of regular and special budget reports.Provide technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation and budget preparation.Support the IHD finance department with financial tasks.Examine budget estimates for completeness, accuracy and conformance with procedures and regulations.Summarize budgets.Serve as Budget Office liaison to specific units of the University as assigned.Use the Marketplace financial system to create requisitions and stipend payments.Assist with the development of budgeting and reporting software used by Budget Planning.Uphold and support existing University policies and procedures and make recommendations that enhance its business practices.
