Are you detail-oriented and passionate about making a difference in higher education?

As the Business Administrator for Academic Employment and Student Support, you’ll play a key role in managing employment and payroll processes for the Office of the Provost and various Academic Affairs units. You’ll also oversee scholarship processing for Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants each semester, helping ensure vital support for our students and academic programs.

Minimum Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s degree; and Three to five years of experience performing administrative duties with two of these years in a position with unit-wide scope; and One to three years of supervisory experience; and One to three years administrative experience in higher education. An equivalent level of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience  | Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in higher education. Proficiency in Excel, including functions, formulas, data management, and data analysis. Experience with PeopleSoft and PeopleAdmin 7. Preference will be given to internal applicants.

Other Qualifications  | To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.

Process and conduct data analysis each semester on the Graduate Student Scholarship (GSS) for Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants. Correspond in a professional and helpful manner with Financial Aid, Academic Affairs schools and departments, students, and leadership, as required. Provide backup support to the Finance Operations Coordinator. Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information  | Remote Work Notice
The position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after in-person training for an appropriate length of time as determined by the supervisor. Employees must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
