Job Summary  | The University of Utah is seeking part-time Seasonal Holistic Reviewers for the 2025- 2026 season. Seasonal Holistic Reviewers will be trained to assist the full-time admissions team with the consideration of undergraduate applications, helping the University of Utah ensure that holistic review can be completed thoughtfully and thoroughly while in a timely manner. Holistic readers must be able to grasp material quickly, read transcripts and other application materials carefully, and follow procedures diligently. They are devoted to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgement. Seasonal Reviewers should expect to work between 10-19 hours per week between October and the end of February 2026. Please note there may be weeks where we will have yet to receive enough completed applications to guarantee your desired work hours for this position. Applications will be reviewed beginning the week of September 15th. Hires must be available for their initial training beginning in October. Each hire will be expected to attend hour long weekly meetings. These meetings will occur each weekday between the hours of 8:00 and 5:00 MTN. Employees will be scheduled based on availability.

This position is fully remote. In order to perform the job responsibilities remotely, reliable private internet connection is required. Staff will be provided a university laptop to be used exclusively for job functions. While employees may be located anywhere in the U.S., they must work from a private and secure location to best protect student information.

To avoid conflicts of interest, we will not consider candidates who are: Parents/guardians of a high school junior or senior. Athletic coaches who work with or recruit high school athletes. Employees at other institutions of higher education. 

Responsibilities  | Attend trainings and stay up to date with any processing changes. Become proficient in using the Slate platform to monitor a queue, review applications, and submit recommended admissions decisions. Conduct holistic admissions reviews of undergraduate applicants according to the Office of Admissions’ guidelines for consideration. Attend weekly, one-hour virtual meetings. Meet office expectations regarding the number of hours worked per week as well as the quality and efficiency of conducted reviews. Meet file review deadlines set by supervisor and/or office. Communication with the Seasonal Holistic Reviewers’ supervisor and members of the University of Utah Office of Admissions via email (Outlook) and Teams.

Minimum Qualifications  | This is a seasonal, temporary, non-benefited position that can be used for positions six months or less.

Seasonal work generally means work that by its very nature can only be performed during certain times of the year.

Preferences  | Bachelor’s degree. Only candidates who have previous experience conducting holistic application review for undergraduate admissions will be considered.
