About the Job

As a Senior Business Analyst at Epic Kids, you will play a critical role in shaping our Content Team strategy through rigorous forecasting, data modeling, and performance measurement.

You’ll build dashboards, conduct deep-dive analyses, and partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations to deliver insights that drive informed decisions. Your work will directly influence how we acquire, retain, and grow our user base, with a strong focus on education/B2C customer behavior.

Key Responsibilities Content Performance & Customer Insights
  • Analyze customer usage, engagement, and purchase data to identify which books and content types perform well and which underperform.

  • Generate actionable insights on reading trends, content preferences, and learning behaviors across age groups, geographies, and segments.

  • Partner with Content, Product, and Marketing teams to translate data into clear recommendations for content strategy.

Content Portfolio & Gap Analysis
  • Evaluate the existing content library to identify gaps in genres, themes, reading levels, formats, and curriculum alignment.

  • Recommend new content opportunities based on customer demand, market trends, and competitive analysis.

  • Support prioritization of content creation, acquisition, and localization decisions.

Reporting & Dashboards
  • Build and maintain dashboards tracking key content KPIs (engagement, completion, retention, ratings, revenue contribution, etc.).

  • Provide regular performance reports on new releases, series, authors, and categories.

  • Monitor content lifecycle metrics and flag early signals of success or decline.

Experimentation & Impact Measurement
  • Design and analyze A/B tests and pilots for new content formats, series, or features.

  • Measure the impact of content launches, promotions, bundling, and merchandising strategies.

  • Assess ROI of content investments and licensing decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Content Editors, Curriculum teams, Product, and Data Engineering to define metrics and data needs.

  • Translate complex data into clear, non-technical narratives for creative and editorial stakeholders.

  • Support strategic planning with data-backed forecasts and scenarios.

Data Quality & Taxonomy
  • Ensure content metadata, tagging, and categorization structures support accurate analysis and discovery.

  • Partner with teams to improve data capture on reading behavior and content attributes.

  • Build data models to predict new account subscription volume.

  • Develop and maintain performance measurement processes (database development, benchmarking, KPI development, systems documentation, reporting/dashboard deployment).

  • Define clear KPIs (e.g., new accounts, retention rates) for vendors and publishers.

  • Analyze channel performance, conversion funnels, CAC/LTV to optimize user acquisition strategies.

Additional Analysis
  • Perform cohort analysis, segmentation, LTV modeling, and churn analysis to assess user quality and acquisition efficiency.

  • Deliver ad hoc analyses (cross-month reconciliations, content ROI, campaign performance) to answer urgent business questions and unblock stakeholders.

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Operations, and Finance to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and roadmaps.

  • Prepare and present executive-level reports and presentations, driving alignment and influencing strategic priorities.

Job Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence or growth analytics, preferably in EdTech (K–12/Higher Ed) or B2C environments.

  • Proficiency with Metabase and/or Looker (LookML).

  • Expert SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and validation; strong Excel/Google Sheets capabilities.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill complex analyses for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
