Business Assistant Full Description

This on-site position (based on the West Lafayette campus) plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the College of Health and Human Sciences. The Operations Manager supports both the College and its units by managing core business functions and serving as a primary liaison between the College and central university offices.

Key responsibilities include overseeing financial management activities, billing, procurement, and accounts payable. The individual in this role will ensure smooth coordination of business processes, resolve operational challenges, and help maintain compliance with university policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:                           
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will need:
  • High school diploma / GED
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service, as an account clerk, business, or other related field required

Skills needed:
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism in dealing with students, individuals, and business customers
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Motivated individual with the ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle interruptions, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze information and implement solutions
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility, and handling confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment
  • Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology
