Job Summary:
Drive business decisions by delivering both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, reporting patterns, insights, and trends to stakeholders. Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to generate insights into business performance. Produce actionable reports that highlight key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement, and uncover root causes of issues. Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and provide strategic recommendations to optimize performance. Develop reporting solutions and respond to ad hoc data requests across multiple domains. Contribute to the design and enhancement of business intelligence tools and reporting systems. Embrace innovation and forward thinking by continuously seeking new ways to leverage data for smarter, more strategic decision-making. Handle increasingly complex assignments with minimal supervision and significant latitude for independent judgment.

Compensation & Benefits:
The starting salary for this position is $77,000-$84,000/yr, depending on experience. Members of UMB are eligible for a bonus based on department performance. All team members are eligible for the University’s comprehensive benefit package that includes 90% employer- paid medical insurance, a generous 14.2% retirement contribution, reduced tuition, PTO and holiday pay, and more!   

Employment is contingent on the successful completion of a background check and the adherence to departmental policies, including UMB’s Telecommuting Agreement which requires a distraction-free and HIPAA compliant workplace, cameras on for all virtual calls/meetings, and the ability to work during office hours or assigned shift (M-F, approximately 8am to 5pm Mountain Time) regardless of what time zone you live in. Additionally, new hires are required to provide their own monitors (two) and reliable internet service.

Data Analysis and Insights Conduct in-depth data analysis. Provide actionable insights based on data. Process Improvement Identify areas for process improvement. Implement changes to enhance data collection and reporting. Stakeholder Communication Communicate findings to stakeholders. Provide support for data-driven decision-making. Meets productivity and accuracy expectations of the position, and completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications  | Requires a bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Two to four years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Preferences  | An especially qualified candidate will also possess the following: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, or a related field. 3 years of experience in data analysis or data science. 2 years’ experience in healthcare analytics preferred. Solid business acumen. SQL certification preferred. Experience with Excel, Tableau, Python, SQL, medical billing, and standard financial procedures preferred.
