Anthology delivers innovative technology solutions that help institutions and learners achieve their goals. As a Business Development Analyst II, you will play a critical role in supporting our go-to-market strategy by driving early-stage engagement, developing sales pipeline, and coordinating demonstrations for key products.
 
Primary responsibilities will include: 
 
Discovery Call & Demo Coordination (Non-Blackboard/Reach Solutions)
  • Managing the front end of the sales cycle for Anthology Premium solutions, such as Engage, Ally, Evaluate, Planning, and Outcomes
  • Participating in and conduct discovery calls and take detailed notes during needs analysis
  • Submitting Solution Engineer (SE) requests based on client context and objectives
  • Scheduling product demonstrations and ensure internal alignment across teams
  • Helping maintain consistent CRM accuracy for these early-stage opportunities
 
Pipeline Development for Blackboard and Reach
  • Executing outbound prospecting and lead qualification to build pipeline for Net New Blackboard and Reach opportunities
  • Conducting outreach to target high-potential institutions and key decision-makers, as identified by Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Strategic Consultants, or Product Management
  • Collaborating with Regional Sales Managers to align efforts with strategic growth priorities.
  • Tracking outreach results and surface qualified leads for deeper engagement.

Targeted Outreach for Engage and Ally
  • Proactively pursuing new conversations for Engage and Ally, with a focus on departments likely to benefit most from these solutions.
  • Leveraging messaging that reinforces Anthology’s market leadership and counters competitive pressures.
  • Partnering with marketing and sales to deploy campaigns and track performance.
 
Processing Transactions
  • Processing fulfillment of certain point solutions, such as Portfolio, Encompass and Engage add-ons, or services requests to provide clients with additional requirements for these products and services.
 
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
  • 1–2 years of experience in sales development, business development, or lead generation role—preferably in SaaS or EdTech.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with outbound prospecting and coordinating complex schedules.
  • Highly organized, results oriented, and proactive with attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to support multiple sales reps concurrently. A solid team player.
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred).
Preferred skills/qualifications:
  • Familiarity with higher education processes and the technology landscape that supports higher education.
  • Understanding of the sales cycle for SaaS-based education solutions.
 
Pay range is $71,900- $85,000/year depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
