Florida High Tech Corridor:
The Florida High Tech Corridor is an economic development initiative at the University of Central Florida whose mission is to foster the high technology industry spanning 23 counties of Central Florida with rich industries in aerospace engineering, modeling and simulation, optics and photonics, digital media, and medical technologies. The Florida High Tech Corridor works with partners to expand the capacity of high tech, innovation and regional talent pipeline to advance innovation, grow the economy and improve the lives of people in the communities we serve.

The Opportunity
The Florida High Tech Corridor is seeking a motivated and collaborative professional to lead the Semiconductor Industry Cluster as part of the Cenfluence Initiative, a program dedicated to advancing Central Florida's innovation ecosytem. In this role, you will play an integral part in delivering business support services to small businesses, implementing & developing cluster-focused programs, and coordinating activities that strengthen Florida's semiconductor ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact, industry-shaping work at the intersection of economic development, program management, and stakeholder engagement.
This is a Contracts & Grants (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively supports the Florida Semiconductor Engine (FSE) ecosystem expansion by facilitating cluster membership growth through Cenfluence structured events, member services, and regular community-wide communications regarding program updates, activities, and meetings.
  • Builds and maintains mutually beneficial relationships with external vendors, organizations, officials, and stakeholders across the Florida semiconductor ecosystem — including small and medium-sized companies and the education and research community — developing a strong understanding of their key needs and opportunities.
  • Delivers tailored support and services to members of the Cenfluence Semiconductor cluster.
  • Partners with Corridor leadership to understand, anticipate, and proactively address program needs.
  • Represents the Corridor, Cenfluence, the Florida Semiconductor Engine, and the Florida semiconductor-related community at local, regional, national, and international events before potential members, existing members, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Supports the organization and execution of virtual and in-person events to build collaboration across the Florida semiconductor-related community and provides technical assistance to small businesses through one-on-one support and/or industry-relevant training.
  • Supports the identification, proposal development, and execution of relevant funding opportunities that can lead to the growth of the Cenfluence Semiconductor Cluster business support services, and coordinates with resource partners and stakeholders on program growth and expansion.
  • Maintains back-end project management and reporting systems and produces quarterly reports for sponsored projects.
  • Collaborates with the Cenfluence marketing team to maintain public-facing marketing efforts, including social media, website content, email communications, cluster annual reports, and other public relations and marketing activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Semiconductor/Advanced Manufacturing Experience in or knowledge of the semiconductor, microelectronics, or advanced manufacturing industry, including familiarity with Florida's technology and innovation ecosystem or related regional economic development initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in economic development, industry cluster management, or technology ecosystem development, including facilitating stakeholder networks or supporting public-private partnerships.
  • Experience delivering business development support, technical assistance, or advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses, particularly in technology, research, or innovation-focused context.
  • Familiarity with grant program processes, including experience supporting proposal development, grant administration, program reporting, or compliance tracking for government or foundation-funded programs.
  • Experience organizing and executing professional events, workshops, or convenings aimed at building community, facilitating collaboration, or providing training to industry stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting communications and marketing activities such as social media management, newsletter or email campaign coordination, website content updates, or development of annual reports and program summaries.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and systems, with demonstrated ability to maintain program tracking, produce periodic reports, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
