Posting Context Statement  | The Idaho Water Resources Research Institute (IWRRI) is one of the nation’s 54 water research and technology centers. IWRRI conducts and directs research to support the water resource needs of the state of Idaho, the northwest region and the nation. IWRRI also facilitates and develops innovative education and outreach programs that provide research-generated information to water managers, agency research scientists and the public at large.

This position will support the financial sustainability and growth of IWRRI through grants and budgetary management. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in grant management and an ability to identify and leverage decentralized resources across the university.

Position Overview 
This position provides management, support, direction and training for administrative and financial staff. It also oversees communication and interaction with college support staff for personnel processes and works closely with university offices to research rules, regulations, processes and procedures, provide interpretations and make recommendations to administrators, departments and supervisors.

 Position Qualifications 
Required Experience  | Two years providing financial processing support within an electronic finance system Using spreadsheet software to compile, summarize, analyze and report on financial data Interpreting and applying financial stewardship policies, procedures, rules and regulations One year supervising or delegating work to others
Required Education  | Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Public Administration; four additional years of experience (for a total of six years) may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree

Additional Preferred  | Excellent oral and written communication skills Proven organizational skills; ability to work with a high level of accuracy with acute attention to detail; and meet required deadlines Knowledge of University of Idaho policies and procedures as they relate to financial, administrative and sponsored programs policies and procedures Experience with financial databases, management and reporting systems such as Banner Finance and Argos Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) Experience in grant administration, including proposal development Ability to work independently and within team settings
