Posting Context Statement  | Administrative Services supports the college in personnel and financial operations. This position manages the college’s electronic personnel action and payroll processes, while providing financial support within the college. The position assists CALS Administrative Services in improving and maintaining system process workflows to execute procedures, generate reports and train college support staff.

Position Overview  | Responsible for providing basic to moderately complex technical support for daily financial operations by performing a variety of tasks following policies and procedures. In addition to processing a variety of financial transactions and maintaining records, the position compiles data and generates routine financial reports. May handle cash, manage accounts receivable and/or payable transactions.

Duties may include: Purchasing identified goods and services Submitting invoices and receipts for payment Accepting and recording payments Reconciling purchasing card statements Processing travel claims and reimbursements Tracking transactions through completion in the centralized financial system Filing and maintaining unit-level finance documents Originating personnel actions and processing corrections to pay in the centralized finance system Compiling and summarizing data for routine reports Distributing financial reports Researching discrepancies Providing assistance to departments on questions related to invoices, receipts, financial reports and other transactions Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications 
Required Experience  | One year providing financial or business process support within established policies and procedures Using computer software and applications for researching and compiling financial information, preparing summaries and reports A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance may substitute for the above experience

Additional Preferred  | Bachelor’s degree in related area Experience using Excel, Banner, and Argos system to enter, retrieve and edit data and to develop reports Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and professionals across the public and private sectors, and to seek guidance from appropriate personnel as needed Familiarity with the land-grant institution and Extension system Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external constituents Experience researching, interpreting and applying laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures Experience developing, recommending, and evaluating program procedures and recommending changes Experience in developing technical written materials such as policies, manuals, or rules and regulations; providing technical program support and serving as a liaison with customer or provider groups; identifying and solving problems; and preparing clear, concise reports. Experience in supervisory practices, hiring practices Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database software Experience in program planning and implementation; designing and conducting training programs
