The Business Technical Analyst I assists the data- and technology-driven efforts of the Office of Financial Aid’s Technology Team, providing key maintenance and support functions for the continual improvement and critical system and process efficiencies and solutions.

Minimum Education and Experience  | BA/BS degree in related field and two (2) years of related experience; AA/AS degree in related field with four (4) years related experience; High school diploma with six (6) years related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Maintain the University’s scholarship management system, including gathering and analyzing data, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify technical and functional requirements, and conducting thorough system testing and validation. Develop and enhance financial aid technology solutions within and in conjunction with University-wide enterprise student information systems such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Financial Aid module, NextGen Scholarship Manager, and other software platforms. Provide technical and operational support for various processes, including queries, business process and needs analysis, identifying and gathering system requirements, data loads, and data analysis and reporting. Perform various data functions including maintaining and developing data extracts, formatting and transforming data loads, reporting and resolving errors and exceptions, preparing data for reports, and communicating with campus partners. May develop cross-platform solutions involving student financial aid data. Ensure a seamless and positive user experience through effective problem-solving, continuous system and process improvements, and cross-functional coordination.

Remote Work Notice
Following successful completion of an initial training period, a hybrid work schedule may be available, subject to business needs and departmental approval. Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be cancelled.
