Department Summary
The Budget Office is a team of diverse financial professionals who provide insight and guidance for effective budget management, as well as being good stewards of resource allocation and utilization. We are committed to assisting all levels of management with their budgetary needs and financial analysis requirements by providing timely information in order for management to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Position Overview
The Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst assists in all budget related needs and financial reporting and analysis for the Budget Office. This position is involved in all activities associated with the preparation and implementation of the Annual Operating Budget. As a member of the Budget Office team, this position interacts with all staffing levels at HSC, including Executive leadership, VPs, Deans, faculty, department heads and administrators. Additionally, this position interacts with external customers including the Legislative Budget Board and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree and five (5) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Duties:
Develops State required budget, financial reports and related presentations for the UNT System, Board of Regents and the Texas Legislature (e.g. Annual Operating Budget, Legislative Appropriations Request, Quarterly Board Reports). Assists the Budget Director and the Executive Director of Budget and Planning with coordinating and executing the critical needs of the department. Develops, monitors and reports significant metrics/key performance indicators that effectively communicate HSCs operational and financial performance. Assists with ensuring HSCs Budget Ledger reconciles to the General Ledger. Responsible for handing the daily operations involving all aspects of budget management, including financial analysis and reporting; this also includes position management and associated funding. Creates training materials presentations for annual budget financial reporting for HSC.Serves as the point of contact to communicate all necessary budget related information to the HSC campus, as well as serve as a liaison between System and the HSC campus.Preparing and analyzing internal and external financial reports.
