Job Summary
Join the MathWorks Finance team and develop a comprehensive understanding of the procure-to-pay process at a leading high-tech company.

In this role you will deepen your finance knowledge and your exposure to technology and systems, tax, project management, metrics, analysis / negotiation and contract management. This position offers hands-on experience, training, mentoring, and opportunities to collaborate with professionals across the organization—helping you build a strong foundation for a career in finance.

Responsibilities
  • Support US indirect sourcing and procurement, with a focus on technology hardware and software and professional services
  • Partnering with stakeholders, develop a solid working knowledge of the products and services being purchased and ensure key business terms are properly reflected in contracts
  • Lead supplier negotiations, working to ensure the proper value proposition is obtained with each contract
  • Serve as the key liaison between Legal, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure contracts are finalized timely and accurately
  • Prepare and monitor metrics to drive process improvement and track performance relative to procurement KPI’s
  • Leverage technology to efficiently create, fulfill and close purchase orders, while ensuring that key accounting and tax details are captured for downstream reporting and payment activities 
  • Partnering with other members of the Finance team, maintain key supplier and contract data and work to resolve discrepancies

Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications
  • BS required with an accounting, finance, or business concentration
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Procurement role, preferably sourcing technology
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States (visa sponsorship not available)
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Excellent problem solving, customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience reviewing supplier contracts and negotiating business terms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Oracle Procurement is a plus
