Primary Purpose of the Position:  | The Certified Licensed Counselor serves as a key member of the larger team of committed mental health professionals and promotes emotional well-being and support services to assist in the emotional, psychological, and intellectual development of students with diverse backgrounds. The position is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive behavioral health/ substance use counseling services to our varied student population with a focus on reducing risks associated with self-harm behaviors and suicidology. The position will provide individual, couples*, and group counseling services, transformative presentations, and in-service training to augment the total educational process, thereby maintaining a climate conducive to all students’ academic growth and development.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements:  | 1. Master’s degree or above
2. State Certification in Counseling
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:  | Knowledge of current literature and access to professional memberships. Ability to interpret and utilize assessment data; Ability to conduct comprehensive counseling evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications:  | Four to five (4-5)years of post-graduate clinical experience providing comprehensive behavioral health/ substance use counseling services. Experience in a university counseling center. Preference for candidates with demonstrated experience working with military/military-affiliated communities. Successful candidates will be generalists who are multi-culturally affirming and possess experience in working with diverse populations. Preference for candidates who have experience and a strong interest in providing outreach presentations and group work. Experience in program assessment and evaluation.
