FutureTex is hiring a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to build, lead, and scale the operational infrastructure of a national Manufacturing Innovation Institute and OTA Consortium dedicated to strengthening America's textile and fiber manufacturing industrial base. The COO will lead daily operations, oversee finance, compliance, human resources, IT, and facility management, and collaborate with executive leadership and external partners to drive measurable outcomes in manufacturing innovation and national security readiness.

- Oversee finance, contracts, compliance, human resources, IT, security, facilities, membership, and performance management.
- Responsible for strategic planning, organizational leadership, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders including government, academia, and industry.
- Manage national consortium operations including member growth, engagement, and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with federal awards, OTAs, nonprofit regulations, and cybersecurity requirements such as CMMC and NIST 800-171.
- Minimum 15 years senior leadership experience with at least 10 years leading complex multi-stakeholder organizations.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree (MBA, MPA, Engineering Management) preferred.
- Prefer experience with Manufacturing USA institutes, defense industrial base initiatives, and advanced manufacturing ecosystems.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license not required.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
