Description
The Training Specialist is responsible for developing curriculum to ensure adherence to CorVel’s best practice guidelines, customer special handling requirements, improve quality audit metrics and overall claims outcomes.  It involves ensuring that a designated geographical area of CorVel Enterprise Comp is equipped with an Operations workforce that can optimize its current and future goals and objectives, and deliver quality services that can meet our clients’ requirements and service expectations.  In order to efficiently execute daily responsibilities, the Training Specialist must first possess a deep understanding of the business to articulate what our EC model does and to clearly demonstrate all aspects of the Operations roles in order to be able to successfully train and oversee the department training.  

Other duties to be carried out by Training Specialist will include conducting classroom, virtual, and field training to internal employees/colleagues, developing training materials to meet specific needs, and monitoring new hires, and other tasks as required by Management.

 This is a hybrid role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with Management to identify training needs and schedule appropriate training sessions
  •  Review of audit results coordinating with designated auditor to determine the need for targeted retraining initiatives for specific individuals, unit or office location
  • Develop programs and curriculum for each department for orientation and on the job training
  • Develop training programs on new initiatives, jurisdictional changes or identified deficiencies in managing claims within specific jurisdictions represented by the northeast claims team.
  •  Collaborate with each department to creating training support materials and documentation
  • Create and maintain a “train the trainer” program for all departments
  • Conduct surveys to judge how programs are received and if changes are needed
  • Prepare onboarding training for new employees
  • Critically examine the trainees’ understanding and progress and making necessary adjustments to the program
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate record of training progress and achievements
  • Build a eLearning library for common training modules
  • Collaborate with Privacy to ensure all PHI, PII and HIPAA training is up-to-date and time
  • Incorporate training materials in operations software for quick and easy access to knowledge base
  • Provide weekly and monthly progress reports of all new hire productivity to department managers, operations directors and SVP for first 90 days of employment
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Preferred 4-year degree, education or training or equivalent experience
  • Preferred prior experience as a trainer in both classroom led and remote online environments
  • Experience in managing workers’ compensation claims preferably in New York or New England Jurisdictions
  • Experience with managing and administration of a Learning Management System
  • Experience in creating training support materials and documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify gaps in skills
  • Knowledge of various teaching methods and approaches
 
PAY RANGE: 
CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location.  Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors:  federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions.  Our ranges may be modified at any time. 

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.  The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process. 

Pay Range:  $76,206 – $117,662
