Job Description 
Rappahannock Community College (RCC), founded in 1970, provides high-quality educational and training opportunities throughout a 12-county service region an hour east of Richmond on the beautiful western shore of the Chesapeake Bay with access to fresh local seafood and water activities. RCC delivers accessible and affordable educational opportunities, including for-credit transfer and career technical programs, robust distance education coursework, quality dual enrollment courses, and award-winning workforce training and credentialing programs. RCC’s annualized enrollment of 3,700 credit students in 2024-2025 and almost 800 workforce and community development students are supported by almost 140 full-time employees and over 200 part-time/adjunct employees across two main campuses and four satellite sites.

RCC seeks applicants for our College Navigator position. This is a full-time, classified, restricted staff position, with an excellent benefits package. Continuation of the position is contingent upon funding. The anticipated salary range will be up to $48,195, commensurate with experience.

Reporting to the Coordinator of Student Success, this College Navigator role will provide students with access to holistic advising and coaching services to support student connection, entry, progress, and completion.

This position will serve as the personalized primary point of contact for prospective and new students in assisting with admissions, college registration, developing individualized academic plans, and applying for financial aid, grant aid, and scholarships. The College Navigator will connect students with resources at the college to ensure they can seamlessly onboard, enroll and pay for college. This position will also build networks with internal and external partners to recruit eligible adults for college programs. College Navigators receive extensive training in the college’s Culture of Care prior to meeting with students, a toolkit for on-the-job reference, and required ongoing professional development throughout the year. The incumbent will be primarily located at the Warsaw campus and will travel to the Glenns campus twice a week. In addition, this role occasionally works evenings and weekends.
