Job Description  | General Description:
The Outreach & Student Engagement Specialist will collaborate closely with the Grant Director to design, implement, and evaluate outreach strategies that attract and retain diverse student populations. This role emphasizes relationship-building, mentorship, and the ability to leverage professional expertise to strengthen program visibility and impact.

Duties and Tasks:
Tasked to improve the recruitment of students in LASS – Mandel Grant programming; Assistance with day-to-day operations of Mandel Grant programming to include: outreach via phone, email, and mass communication systems/social media, constituent engagement and management, and other administrative tasks; Coordinate and conduct prospective student appointments and group information sessions; Liaison between the Mandel Grant staff, faculty, and employers, while assisting with marketing and communication projects as assigned; Implement initiatives for improved personalization of student outreach and engagement within designated budgets; Serve as point of contact and provide outreach for Mandel Grant events and programs; Assist perspective and current students with Mandel Grant programming applications; Plan and support recruitment activities including fairs and information sessions; Other duties as assigned.

Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision making. Ability to provide timely and relevant input concerning external relations activities, meetings, and events. Knowledge of confidentiality standards in personal information management. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent organizational skills. 

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience in event planning and coordination. Experience with education, program recruitment and engagement. Experience in social media and online engagement strategies. Experience with MS office and content creation. Experience providing administrative support. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to attend engagements on multiple campuses and the surrounding communities.
