Communications Administrator Full Description

Position Summary: 
The Communications Administrator advances the communications and marketing efforts of the Courant Institute School of Mathematics, Computing, and Data Science. The role supports the development and execution of school‑wide communications that strengthen Courant’s visibility, reputation, and engagement with internal and external audiences. In collaboration with school leadership and the Assistant Director of Communications, implement a comprehensive communications strategy that enhances engagement among students, faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and prospective students. The position ensures consistent messaging across the Mathematics, Computer Science, and Data Science departments and supports the school’s website, newsletter, social media channels, and promotional initiatives. 

Qualifications: 
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, media studies, journalism, public relations, or a related field

Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience in writing, managing websites, graphic design, social media, communications and content strategy, or program management

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, writing and organizational skills; ability to manage time and projects effectively.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Graphic design experience (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign) - Knowledge of the NYU community; academic or background knowledge in the mathematical sciences and technology preferred 

Additional Information: 
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
