Physical Requirements  | The physical requirements of this position will include: occasional standing and/or walking with objects up to 25lbs; and regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods with regular repetitive motions (such as typing).
Shift  | Primarily Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 5:00 pm; however, additional hours may be required from time to time due to workload demands.
Job Summary  | Under the leadership of the Director of Compensation, the Compensation Specialist will collaborate with the Compensation Consultant/Hospitals and various supervisors in UK Healthcare to support the job classification process, including position updates with post, updates with no post, and new position description requests through the Integrated Employment System and the Position Review System. The Compensation Specialist must view information in SAP as needed. May be required to enter information in SAP in job classification fields.

The Compensation Specialist must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; build and maintain positive working relationships with individuals; abide by University guidelines; maintain confidentiality; prioritize and manage work effectively while maintaining a high degree of accuracy; provide exceptional customer service; report to meetings at different locations both on campus on off campus; and effectively interact with individuals from various levels throughout the organization.

Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: facilitating compensation activities in other sectors, building and running reports from the system of record, reporting data and running custom reports, etc.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities  | We are seeking an individual with initiative, superior customer service focus, team oriented, excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships, and expertise in the full Microsoft Office Suite. A successful candidate will also have HR professional knowledge, the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. Solid time management, problem solving, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills are all critical to the success in this position and a high level of respect for confidentiality is a must.

Preferred Education/Experience  | Bachelor’s Degree plus two or more years or equivalent experience as a staff support/administrative assistant preferred.
Experience in health care setting preferred.
