Job Description:
Under supervision of the Interim Manager of Compliance and Clinical Placement, the Specialist supports the centralized compliance and clinical placement initiatives in the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation.

Position Details:
  • This position is full-time, and the incumbent must be available Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.
  • This position is eligible for hybrid work schedule.
Position Salary Range: $42,400 - $55,000.00, DOE

Essential Duties:
Health and Safety Compliance
  • Monitors student and faculty compliance for select Edson College programs (prelicensure, MS Nursing, and internships) across multiple platforms (Complio, MyClinicalExchange, NURSYS).
  • Ensures full compliance throughout the student and faculty lifecycle, including onboarding and throughout the duration of enrollment for students and employment for faculty.
  • Compliance varies by program (immunization tracker, background check, drug screen, etc.), but includes all compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Proactively communicates with students and faculty regarding compliance issues, such as non-compliant background checks, non-passing drug screens or missing documentation.
  • Responds to all student and faculty communications regarding compliance.
  • Ensures adherence to all clinical compliance deadlines and communicates those deadlines to students, faculty and other stakeholders.
  • Escalates requests for extensions and exceptions to the compliance requirements to manager.
  • Develops student and faculty-facing resources (e.g., documents, videos, presentations) to guide the compliance process.
  • Supports faculty and staff regarding compliance questions and provides ongoing support and training to ensure compliance across all programs.
  • Collaborates with program faculty and staff to align compliance requirements with clinical agency requirements, optimizing process and ensuring compliance across all programs.
  • Monitors student compliance requirements from all clinical partners and regulatory bodies to identify changes and ensure integrity of the compliance process.
  • Ensures compliance concerns do not interfere with program enrollment or faculty teaching assignments.
  • Maintains compliance-related policies in official college documents (college policies, program handbooks, templates, etc.).
  • Makes recommendations for changes to improve and streamline the compliance experience for students, faculty and staff; gather input from key stakeholders and implement agreed upon improvements.
Clinical Placements
  • Supports MS Nursing and prelicensure nursing students by coordinating and managing clinical placements, which includes:
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clinical partners, attending meetings, and ensuring all placement requirements and timelines are met.
  • Reviewing and updating detailed clinical schedules and databases to align with program needs, student accommodations, and assessment dates.
  • Proactively communicating with students, internal teams and external partners regarding placements and scheduling conflicts.
  • Representing the clinical placement team at events and ensures clear communication with students and faculty about placement logistics and changes.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Supports Nursys, state authorization, internship, and professional licensure initiatives, as needed and directed by manager.
  • Develops and provides training on clinical placement, compliance and compliance systems, as needed.
  • Monitors student staff activities supporting compliance and clinical placement activities.
  • Ensures goals and objectives of the team are met.
  • Prepares data and reports, as needed, to support responsibilities.
  • Supports other initiatives as needed of the student success team.
  • Attends in-person orientation and welcome events to support the work of the student success team and the overall student success initiatives unit.
  • Provides in-office coverage to support the coverage needs of the overall student success initiatives unit.
  • Deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Initiate confidential correspondence on behalf of the director
  • Maintain databases and develop reports.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendar for director.
  • As a member of the larger student success initiatives unit, this position provides in-person office and event coverage to support the goals of the unit and the college. This includes assisting with recruitment events, convocation, orientations, welcomes, college meetings, etc.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures related to compliance, clinical placement, and
  • student services.
  • Knowledge of basic project management.
  • Skill in performing detailed and complex numerical computations and reports, including analysis and
  • evaluation of budgets, planning and other management information systems.
  • Skilled in designing informational and presentation materials.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions
  • Use basic math and a calculator.

Working Environment:
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Work in an office setting and use office equipment (i.e. printers, copiers, and phones).
  • Use an ASU or personal vehicle to travel to different campuses.
  • Use of computer equipment and software.
  • The primary work location is the Downtown Phoenix campus, but a presence on other campuses or at off-campus locations may be required.
