We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Conference Manager - Instructional Design, Council Conferences to oversee the instructional design of specialty conferences. The position is responsible for driving the development of high-quality, engaging, and effective learning curriculum. The ideal candidate will be providing guidance and support to the internal and external production teams and working closely with the Council Committees to ensure high quality and innovative experiences. The position plays a crucial role in setting instructional design standards, fostering innovation, and promoting continuous improvement in the online, in person and blended learning environments.

Responsibilities:

Project Management/Instructional Design Process:

·Drive the development and maintenance of project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for conference instructional design projects. Coordinate with stakeholders, including subject matter experts, speakers, and education committees, to gather requirements and establish project goals. Work with Director of Conferences to prepare, administer, adjust, and project a budget and business plan for each assigned program Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and procurement of materials and services as needed. Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, identify risks, and resolve issues in a timely manner. Ensure adherence to conference schedules and deadlines, adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate changes or unforeseen circumstances. Communicate conference status updates, successes, and challenges to relevant stakeholders, including conference organizers and team members. Recruit, hire and review subject matter experts/speakers, work with production teams, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of educational conferences. Evaluate conference outcomes and lessons learned to inform future conference instructional design initiatives.

Instructional Design Strategy:

·Design engaging and effective instructional materials and resources for conference sessions, workshops, and presentations. Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create content that meets the needs of diverse learners and aligns with conference objectives. Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs, define learning objectives, and identify appropriate instructional strategies and content delivery methods. Develop interactive activities, exercises, and assessments to enhance participant engagement and knowledge retention. Utilize multimedia tools and technologies to enhance the effectiveness of instructional materials, such as video, interactive simulations, and digital learning resources. Conduct formative and summative evaluations of instructional materials and sessions to assess learning outcomes and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Stay current on best practices, trends, and innovations in instructional design, adult education, and discipline innovations to inform conference program development and delivery. Work closely with enterprise brand team to ensure that instructional materials are accessible to all learners, including those with disabilities, and adhere to accessibility and enterprise brand standards and guidelines. Work closely with internal and external event production to identify creative presentation of content and best channels for delivery.

Continuous Learning/Onsite Engagement:

·Cultivate a growth mindset and a passion for innovation in instructional design. Develop the capability to adapt to changing educational landscapes and evolving learner needs. Cultivate creativity and critical thinking skills to design engaging and impactful learning experiences and incorporate this expertise into conference workshops and events. Continue to enhance proficiency in instructional design methodologies, theories, and best practices the credit union industry, staying current on enterprise initiatives, as well as industry related developments. Responsible for on-site, online, hybrid web-based curricula implementation. Provide speaker feedback and coaching real time. Assist presenters in modifying content and creating exercises/activities as appropriate. Onsite responsibilities include conference weaving activities, facilitation of sessions, conducting student orientation, faculty introductions/announcements, facilitating roundtables, serving as educational liaison to conference committees and acting as back-up in case of last-minute faculty cancellations. Serve as Association Services liaison to credit unions and assigned committees.

Stakeholder Engagement:

·Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, subject matter experts, meetings team, enterprise marketing professionals, and other Association Services peers to create proper training environment necessary for assigned events. Create and foster relationships with credit union communities, advisory committees, and other members of the learning community. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and promote understanding of instructional design processes and conference objectives.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

·Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Education, Instructional Design, Learning Technologies and/or Adult Education, or the equivalent work experience.

·5+ years of experience with instructional design & development.

·5+ years of experience coordination in person adult training programs or conferences.

·5+ years of fiscal/budgetary management experience.

·5+ years of experience in design & delivery of web-based/virtual adult training programs.

·5+ years project management experience.

·Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including conference organizers, committees, speakers, attendees, and vendors.

·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify learning needs, address challenges, and optimize instructional solutions.

·Innovative thinking to design creative and engaging instructional experiences that capture participants' interest and enhance learning outcomes.

·A thorough understanding of the financial services industry and the responsibilities of its officials and staff is required. Strong knowledge of the credit union industry and operational knowledge. Must be current on issues impacting credit unions.

·Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
