What Instructional Design & Development contributes to Cardinal Health
Learning develops, deploys and evaluates learning solutions to support employee development and build organizational capability in alignment to business strategies. This function analyzes learning needs and develops training curricula, technologies, and programs. This function also manages trainings provided by third parties and partners with leaders and subject matter experts within functions and business units to deliver learning.
Instructional Design & Development develops blended learning solutions optimized for unique subject matter areas and audiences, leveraging third-party and Learning Technologies capabilities. This job family analyzes employee learning needs and partners with subject matter experts and business management to gain input for course content. Instructional Design & Development develops general and technical content based on best practices, facilitates the introduction of new courses, and develops and monitors metrics for evaluating learning solutions' effectiveness.
Job Summary
The Instructional Designer Consultant, with a design mindset, will be responsible for applying appropriate analysis, design & development principles that deliver action-based learning solutions that drive performance and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Partners with managers, Learning Business Partners (LBPs) and business SMEs throughout the Customer Experience Academy to design learning-based solutions that drive performance and business goals for product launches
- Applies analysis and design principles and methodology to create a training approach that drives performance and focuses on targeted outcomes
- Conducts comprehensive training needs analyses and develops clear, actionable documentation to inform and guide downstream instructional design teams
- Leads project-based instructional design initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with learning objectives and business outcomes
- Designs and develops both instructor-led and web-based learning solutions, including detailed storyboards and design documents that map content directly to business goals and learner performance needs.
- Builds measurement approach into design
- Ensures the instructional integrity of course design through systematic design, development, and evaluation
- Builds and maintains relationships by consistently designing highly innovative, interactive learning designs that focus on key learning behaviors.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of Learning & Development experience, including analysis, design and development of learning solutions, and learning evaluation, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience, preferred
- Master’s degree in the area of Instructional Design, preferred
- CPLP or any certification from Professional Associations for Instructional Design preferred
- Proven success at implementing MAP IT principles
- Demonstrated proficiency in the development of program design, storyboarding and implementation of learning initiatives that drive performance
- Proven ability to identify key behaviors and translate into learning designs
- Ability to conduct and interpret analysis results data
- Proven ability to develop engaging, action-based curriculum to teach key behaviors and enhance user metrics
- Experience with patient access preferred
- Experience in using authoring software (including, but not limited to: Articulate Suite, Adobe Suite, Vyond Microsoft Office Suite, etc.)
- Able to adapt an agile way of working where impact is delivered through speed and innovation
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with and influence business partners
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Change management experience

Anticipated salary range: $67,500-$105,930
