About the Role
This is a 1 year, fixed-term contract to cover for a maternity leave.
As the SSRN Content Assistant, you'll contribute to the acquisition of new research papers in the disciplines SSRN serves: Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Applied Sciences, Health Sciences and Humanities. You'll be involved in initiatives that result in more scholarly authors choosing to post their preprints on SSRN and contribute to the team meeting growth goals and initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to initiatives to meet content acquisition targets and schedules.
  • Liaising with external partners, researchers and research communities.
  • Helping SSRN understand and serve the early-stage research sharing needs of all the different research communities.
  • Creating externally facing communication resources, slide decks and presentations to communicate what SSRN is.
  • Generating SSRN social media including tweets, blogs and other material, meeting volume and engagement goals, contributing to creative teamwork.
  • Running and/ or contributing to ad hoc cross departmental working groups.
  • Reporting and data analysis on content, analysis of data points. Working with product and reporting team to build, review, refine content reporting that informs the direction and success metrics for SSRN.
  • Working on initiatives, such as Grey Literature, helping to bring new content to SSRN.
  • Contributing to strategic planning and ad hoc research assignments relevant to preprints, competition, etc., from Content Director.

Requirements:
  • Have a proven track record in editorial, acquisitions, content management or project management roles.
  • Able to bring in new content in alignment with workflows of other departments to accomplish shared goals.
  • Have and develop an understanding of all aspects of paper workflows. Be able to work with operations and production and sales to accomplish shared goals.
  • Experience contributing to market research, strategic planning, roadmap development, reporting and data analysis.
  • Able to understand and advocate for the need of authors and readers.
