Job Overview:

The Content Integration Specialist, reporting to the Director of Content Integration, is responsible for applying research and best practices to content integration initiatives, with an emphasis on supporting solutions related to standards alignment, informational architecture, taxonomies, resource metadata, and alignments between assessment and instructional design. 

This Content Integration Specialist will be responsible for developing and reviewing alignments to academic standards, assessments, and widely used third-party curricula across all Learning A-Z products, as well as supporting the development of responses to state adoption lists and district RFPs as they relate to aligning product content to submission specifications. This position is responsible for being up to date on K–6 academic standards, creating crosswalks between academic standards, and associating metadata from academic skills to standards and Learning A-Z resources.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee the development by vendors and contractors of correlations and alignments to resources, user interfaces, and supporting documentation through the Production process; collaborate with Engineering, UI/UX team throughout production and deployment cycle.
  • Align student- and teacher-facing learning resources from all Learning A-Z product sites to standards, curricula, skills, and assessments.
  • Document and share out gaps in resources and/or standards alignment which will inform new product and content development. 
  • Conduct quality analysis of resource correlations and alignments, including user interfaces to ensure navigation and contents are as specified.
  • Manage correlation requests from different departments, including sales and product management, in support of business priorities.
  • Work with Learning Design and Content Development, Product Managers, and UX to implement feedback from customers, advisory boards, user-testing evaluation, or other sources of feedback in the development and enhancement of products, metadata, correlation resources, and customized curricula.
  • Coordinate with content developers, learning designers, cross-functional team members, and external consultants to ensure on-time delivery of resources.
  • Conduct research and respond to internal questions regarding standards, leveling, metadata functionality, and curriculum correlations.
  • Recruit and train potential contractors, vendors, and consultants as requested, preparing onboarding and training materials and guidelines.
  • Review and edit the work completed by contractors or outside vendors to ensure that they meet the company’s quality standards and best practices in education.
  • Be the point of contact for outsourced alignment services, including approving invoices, providing feedback and making requests on alignments, and communicating regularly with assigned staff. 
  • Ensure that an efficient file management system is followed.
  • Support the Content Integration team with the Learning A-Z product information architecture and resource metadata design and application.
  • Collaborate closely with the Bids & Proposals, Content Development, and Learning Design teams to understand the needs of the RFP and Adoptions requests.
  • Using a pedagogical understanding of Learning A-Z products, support responses to RFPs and curricular state and district adoption bids that map in-product exemplars to submissions specs and standards. 
  • Remain informed about trends and innovations in the industry, including but not limited to new educational legislation, upcoming updates to standards alignments, and shifts in requests related to RFPs and curricular adoptions.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education, learning sciences, learning design, curriculum and instruction, educational technology, or a related field
  • At least two years experience developing standards-based curriculum or educational materials for K-6 in the educational publishing or EdTech industries
  • One to two years of experience correlating educational resources or curriculum to state or other standards and assessments
  • Understanding and familiarity with national and state standards including CCSS, NGSS, WIDA, and C3
  • Deep understanding of Foundational Reading Skills, including Phonics (decoding, encoding, phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle), Phonological Awareness (sound/symbol relationships), Morphology, etc.    
  • Familiarity with the state and district curricular adoptions process
  • Familiarity with a Content Management System (CMS) and its functionality in relation to the in-product content
  • Excellent communication skills: communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally both verbally and in writing with members of various teams
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with a variety of personnel
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office; work across Mac and PC platforms
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus
