  - Set a vision for a prioritized reading and writing roadmap, with a focus on better supporting a) in-product explicit instruction and scaffolding, b) developmentally appropriate foundational skill development, and c) product experiences where writing exercises can enhance reading comprehension (and vice versa).
  - Align roadmap decisions with customer needs, platform capabilities, and broader business goals.
Data Literacy
- Responsibility: Monitor and interpret data to inform strategy
- Duties:
  - Track market trends, emerging research in the learning sciences and science of reading, and customer usage patterns.
  - Use both qualitative and quantitative data to identify needs and opportunities within the Newsela product ecosystem.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Responsibility: Ensure effective collaboration across teams to execute strategy
- Duties:
  - Partner with other members of the Research & Development division (including other content and platform product managers, learning designers, researchers, and designers) to ensure your roadmap is well understood and executed on time.
  - Advise on reading- and writing-related projects and initiatives led by other content and platform product managers
  - Collaborate with Marketing to communicate upcoming releases and their value to educators and to customer-facing staff.
  - Act as a subject-matter expert and responsive collaborator on initiatives that require knowledge of the science of reading.

Base Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000. Total compensation for this role also includes incentive stock options and benefits. This compensation range may be adjusted based on actual experience.
