Graphic Designer Full Description

Overview: 
USU Dining Services is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our team. This role supports our marketing efforts across campus by creating engaging graphics, assisting with promotional campaigns, and helping ensure brand consistency in all materials. You’ll play a key part in shaping how students, faculty, staff, and guests experience Dining Services through visual design and marketing strategy. Responsibilities: 
  • Design digital and print materials, including posters, flyers, menus, social media graphics, and other signage.
  • Work within USU and Dining’s brand guidelines while adding creative, fresh ideas.
  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns and events.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and student staff to brainstorm and deliver content.
  • Help create and manage assets for social media, web, and in-person promotions.
  • Support other marketing-related tasks as needed.
 Qualifications:
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (primary design software).
  • Working knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects, or Premiere Pro a plus).
  • Strong design sense: typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with social media content creation and digital marketing.
  • Photography and/or videography skills.
  • Familiarity with Canva.
  • Interest in food, hospitality, or event marketing.
General Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute creative ideas.

Employees work primarily indoors in a typical office setting with a computer workstation. This position requires extended periods of sitting, typing, and viewing a computer screen. Occasional movement around campus for meetings, events, or marketing needs may be required. The role may occasionally involve lifting or carrying objects up to 25 pounds (such as printed materials or marketing supplies).
