WHAT YOU'LL DO 

The Content Strategist Manager role is responsible for the daily operations of a team of content strategists and ensures the team utilizes best practices (including instructional design methodologies) for timely execution of a variety of product roadmaps. The Manager is responsible for the implementation of consistent operational efficiencies and high quality across the product lines. The Manager is a standout idea generator and problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills. The Manager leads by example and coaches the team toward these behaviors.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This position will work hybrid out of our Burlington, MA office.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Apply strategic planning skills to create a long-term vision for the content.
  • Develop and distribute processes for new methods of preparing content, including implementing instructional design methodologies, train Content Strategists on new processes.
  • Ongoing evaluation, coaching, and upskilling, paying attention to instructional design implementation and project management.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Identify process and communication challenges and ensure expeditious, effective resolution.
  • Guide Content Strategists toward data-driven decision making, particularly when generating new products.
  • Recruit, vet, and contract robust pool of freelance developmental editors and vendors to manage workload and ensure highest-quality content.
  • Manage distribution of work to Content Strategists (internal) and freelancers (external) based on resource availability and project needs.
  • Identify and participate in opportunities to interact with customers: site visits, conferences, advisory board interactions, focus groups.
  • Identify opportunities for Content Strategists to interact with customers: virtual interviews, secondary research, local events, webinars.
  • Project reporting: Maintain current reports related to projects and adherence to budgets.
  • Attract, train, and retain high-performing team members and recruit new talent.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 5-10 years in EdTech, or comparable experience
  • eLearning and eLearning platform experience, including knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices in adult learning theory, instructional theory, and practice.
  • Project management experience
  • Budgetary oversight and contract negotiation experience
  • Experience managing teams of five or more, including freelancers.
  • Instructional Design experience is preferred.
