Job Summary  | Serves as the initial contact for students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders who contact Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) seeking to file complaints related to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or sexual violence. Provides short-term triage counseling and crisis intervention. Provides administrative support to the department while offering individuals accurate information, resources, and follow-up services. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications  | Associate degree preferably in business administration, office management or related field. Two (2) years of work experience in human resources, higher education administration, adult education, social work, or related field. Professional experience providing support for underserved populations.
Preferred Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, adult education, student development, gender studies, student affairs, higher education administration or related field. Experience in providing direct services to survivors of trauma, including sexual assault and interpersonal violence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)  | Ability to maintain confidentiality on a wide range of issues. Ability to tackle emergencies and difficult situations. Proficient written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make effective presentations, and strong public speaking skills. Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery. Knowledge of Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, the federal Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and Clery Act. Understanding of and sensitivity to the issues and concerns of members of a higher-education community. Ability to manage and oversee multiple projects efficiently. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
