Job Description:
The Ira A Fulton School of Engineering Office of Academic and Student Affairs seeks a customer-centric, energetic, detail-oriented team player to serve as Coordinator Senior of Graduate Recruitment. Under supervision of the Associate Director of Outreach and Recruitment, this position is responsible for outreach and recruitment of prospective and admitted students of all graduate programs in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. This position performs student recruitment activities via telephone, e-mail, face-to-face meetings and events. While this role is primarily based at the ASU Tempe campus, travel to the Polytechnic and West Valley campuses will be necessary. Out of state and international travel are also required.
Salary Range: $52,000 - $62,000 per year; DOE.
Essential Duties:
- Collaborate with all 8 Fulton Schools of Engineering to develop and implement recruitment and yield strategies.
- Building and nurturing effective working relationships with partners involved in international recruitment.
- Provide prospective and admitted graduate students with the highest level of customer service through effective and timely phone, email and face-to-face communication.
- Re-design and implement the (Graduate) Fulton Ambassadors Program to recruit graduate students.
- Foster strong relationships with ASU international student organizations and partner with them for recruitment and yield purposes.
- Travel throughout for events, networking, community outreach, and generating interest in the University. Seasonal travel will be more demanding and may include out of state and international travel for protracted periods of time.
- Support the development and facilitation of graduate recruitment webinars, workshops, meetings, or conferences with high impact on program and/or participants; monitor logistics, scheduling and participant communications as assigned.
- Coordinate and support recruitment activities at the Tempe and Poly campuses, including graduate events, tours, and programs.
- Manage and successfully execute virtual and in-person events including marketing, managing registrations, communication to participants and volunteers, event scheduling, reserving appropriate space, and overseeing purchasing and prepping of materials.
- Identify, develop, and maintain working relationships with university faculty, staff, and outside stakeholders in facilitating recruitment and program objectives.
- Coordinates and may assist in creating internal and external communications to new student leads, prospective students and admitted students via letters, articles, newsletter support, phone and, E-mail interactions.
- Provide information and guidance to faculty, staff, student organizations, and outside organizations regarding functions and programs.
- Utilize data to coordinate mail and call campaigns for prospective and admitted students and maintain recruitment and yield interactions using current Admission Services CRM-Salesforce.
- Support Undergraduate outreach and recruitment initiatives as assigned.
- Saturday, Sunday and evening work hours may be required as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of marketing/selling techniques and methods.
- Strong understanding of influential recruitment and sales.
- A high level of written and oral communication skills to accurately convey college/university information.
- Previous graduate admissions experience.
- Results oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks.
- Ability to present information effectively in front of large groups and with individuals.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Experience recruiting in STEM or Engineering fields.
- Experience in using ASU various technology platforms and experience in using Microsoft Office Suite and Google programs and university specific software.
- Experience working with Webextender.
- Experience in using customer service skills.
- Ability to coordinate large scale events, programs and recruitment campaigns.
Working Environment:
- Activities include extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
