Job Summary/Basic Function:  | The Coordinator, Event and Camp Support facilitates the planning and execution of university events, camps, and conferences by serving as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include coordinating logistics, recruiting and training student workers, and providing on-site leadership. This role also encompasses administrative tasks like processing reservations and evaluating programs, while prioritizing exceptional customer service and compliance with safety regulations. Ultimately, this position aims to enhance community engagement and create meaningful experiences for participants.
Minimum Qualifications  | High school diploma and one year of experience planning and implementing events Experience working on a college/university campus Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and basic computer applications. Highly effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience in hiring, training, and supervising student employees.
Preferred Qualifications  | Ability to create online registration websites, coordinate registration system, develop detailed reports for use with the online registration and work with the hosting department to ensure all needs are met. Ability to work well under pressure. College/university degree (Associate degree minimum).
Essential Functions and percent of time:  | Event and Camp Support (40%) Serve as liaison with university departments and external organizations to assist in the development, planning, implementation, and oversight of functions to be held at the university; including planning, attending, and leading meetings for events, camps, and conferences. Collaborate with the event services team, faculty, staff, and community members to execute details and provide on-site services related to assigned events, camps, and conferences. Recruit, hire, and train students for the role of camp counselor. Monitor the work of student workers and provide coaching toward performance improvement. Assist leadership in all aspects of camp development Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that camp activities and programs are safe, engaging, and are intentionally designed to foster interest and sense of belonging. Provide onsite coordination and leadership for summer camp. 
Administration (30%) Coordinate table reservations for external vendors on campus. Coordinate and process summer camp requests. Support event registration for campus events as applicable. Complete formal end-of-summer evaluations that provides comprehensive feedback on areas for improvement, and strengths. Prepare, maintain, and process all forms and paperwork accurately and promptly. Provide recommendations on how to improve the program and share feedback with leadership.
Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd):  | Customer Service (20%) Represent the department by answering internal and external inquiries. Provide on-site support for campus events. Serve as day-to-day contact for summer camps and check-in with instructors/staff throughout the camp day. 
Compliance (10%) Serve as liaison with university departments to share information related to training requirements for programs with minors on campus. Create, maintain, and reconcile user access to the online training portal for sponsoring units. Report non-compliance to the Office of General Counsel. Maintain contact and procedural information related to local background check facilities.
