Course Curriculum Coordinator
BYU is looking for a part-time Course Curriculum Coordinator to help shape the future of statistics education. In this role, you’ll work closely with student employees, mentoring them and influencing their success, while contributing to the development of engaging course materials. This job is an average of 28 hours per week during the hours of M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Ask about a potential hybrid remote work opportunity!
What you’ll do in this position:
- Maintain basic understanding and general awareness of faculty teaching practices and teaching assistant needs in graduate, major, and service classes as well as course administration in large enrollment classes and learning management system software.
- Maintain basic understanding and general awareness of the BS Statistics, BS Actuarial Science, and MS Statistics programs, courses, and student advisement.
- Provide assistance to students experiencing problems with course policies (exam and homework exceptions, penalty points, late fees, University Accessibility Center accommodations, etc.)
- Set up and maintenance of Learning Management System.
- Manage Teaching Assistant grading and migrate grading where possible to more efficient practices.
- Grade submission.
- Process exam and homework exceptions for University Accessibility Center (UAC) compliance and coordinate UAC proctored exams.
- Coordinate the staffing of introductory statistics laboratories with TAs.
- Schedule and make the necessary accommodations for Statistics and Data Science information sessions.
- Assist course managers with the development of course materials to enhance and facilitate student learning and classroom success.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
- 2 years of experience in customer service, with some college.
Preferred
- BS in statistics or a related field
- 1 year experience as BYU student employee
- 1 year experience as an introductory statistics course teaching assistant
Skills, knowledge, ability, certifications, licenses, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills, including the ability to work well with faculty and students.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work tasks and projects independently, according to diverse priorities to meet deadlines and achieve high quality work outcomes. Ability to maintain confidentiality, mature judgement and interpersonal skills, decision making and delegation skills.

Compensation Range
Actual compensation based on education and experience $19.80 - $25.72
