Creative Designer for Broadcast Full Description

Responsible for designing graphic content for Liberty Athletics, its 20 NCAA Division 1 sports, and the Flames Club. Content includes, but is not limited to, providing graphics for social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), athletic venue video boards, athletic websites, Flames Club, athletic marketing, fan/donor emails, and athletic facility branding. Shooting still photography and video at events, practices, and workouts may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the Creative Design Manager to carry out the design vision for Liberty Athletics.
  • Help maintain the standards for all graphical content.
  • Primary graphic designer for all Flames Club design needs.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to deliver graphics as needed.
  • Help lead/train student designers.
  • Creative, self-motivated individual who takes initiative and has an outgoing personality and strong determination to work through complex challenges.
  • Understanding of athletics and how to tell a story through design and photography.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Organized in thought, actions, and habits.
  • Follow directions and work under supervision.
  • Work under tight deadlines and changing events.
  • Required to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a preferred field of study in Communications, Graphic Design, Art, and Marketing.
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media platforms.
Education and Experience
Four-year college degree. 4+ years of experience in a related field preferred.
To obtain LU-approved driver certification, individuals must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid driver's license with a minimum of five (5) years of documented driving history, and maintain a clean driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is frequently changing. Functions of this position's responsibility often require one to work after normal business hours and sometimes for prolonged shifts. Some projects are completed in a climate-controlled office setting, and other projects on a regular basis are outdoors, often at athletics events. Work from home may be encouraged or required at times.
